Bird migration on the sammamish

I struggle with Exercise. Too much, too often, and too routine, can weigh against my attitude. Even taking my walk along the sammamish can seem like an unwanted chore. But deny me that walk for a week and I’m ready to hit the trail. And so it was this morning.

High above the river and seemingly following it’s path, were a group of geese in a classic “V” formation. I couldn’t hear them but I was able to push my cell phone to the limit and grab the shot. Seeing these birds in early october reminds that there is currently a migration going on with canada geese and many, many other species of birds coming down from the north.

My walk take me one way and a return on the same path. On the way back there must have been 60 Canada geese in the river swimming up it. I can’t remember seeing so many of these birds in one location. They do migrate though some live hear all year. together they are beautiful. With fall comes change in color and surprises in the water. I’ll miss summer. And like summer, fall doesn’t last long enough.
