Othello is the largest city in Adams County. I had high expectations. My expectations had to change. I compared it with quaint historic downtowns of Ritzville and Lind in the same county. Othello is a different animal. A place that shares much of the same history and agriculture products, but is more industrial. More processing of harvested crops such as beans. We also saw mint.

After a long day of travel adventure we settled in early and got up early to leave. I was up at 3:38 a.m. and by 5:15 a.m. we were out the door in the rain, dark, and empty streets. My gPS took us to State Route 26 when I was shooting for 17. The 26 took us west through a two lane road that would have been ideal in the daytime, but at night with no street lights in the rain with oncoming trucks, we traveled 34 cautious miles. Finally, at Interstate 90 we headed west and stopped in Ellensburgh for breakfast before heading over the cascades. It was 6:00 a.m. and we ate at the Early Bird.
