Abstracts Today; Pumpkin plant photo-art, Clipped and edged, Time away

While doing the yard work at the street level, I stood back for a look at the gigantic pumpkin vines. Yes, the branches are more like vines stringing farther and farther from the main root. I estimate the length to be 10 to 12 feet. The leaves are gigantic and poking out between the rose bushes towards the street. A thread like vine twists and curls.

I weeded and raked along the second level between the two retaining walls. I blew out the garage and driveway, then used the weed eater to to cut the lawn. It all looked good and the stellers jays gave their approval. They are the dominant bird species visible at this property. I have no complaints about that.

With plans to take off for a few days it weighed on me to spruce up the yard; give it a much needed trim. I gave it a close cut along the retaining on the street level. for several months I noticed actual trees growing in this area. No surprise, a tree drops seeds and they germinate. These were red alder that grow well here. One was probably over four feet reaching five. It took all my strength to pull it out like a weed. The others came out with less effort.

Checked oil and water in the Honda Pilot. It needed both. We are taking off tomorrow for a few days to the eastern part of the state. Amazon, Esty, and ebay put on vacation mode. Sold a remote control about an hour ago and got that wrapped up quickly.
