Abstracts Today; Great blue heron; Studying, green tomatoes

Personally, I love to excersize when I’m overdue and looking forward to it. This moring I purposely got up early and headed out. First to drop off some tubes that belong to a kirby I sold locally. I put the tubes on the porch and drove off.

Great blue heron

During my walk I saw my old friend the great blue heron. He was in the shallows hanging out looking rather passive and not in a hunting mood. I’ve seen two of these guys together. One will be at the water side and the other up in the trees. They can hid in those tall bushy trees even though they are a large bird. I looked for the second one but did not find it. I video the bird waiting for it to take off. After two plus minutes of filming it standing still I gave up.

Researching Adams County, Washington

Back home I hung the flag and cleaned out the car for a trip we’re planning later this week. I spent several hours researching the trip starting with the history of the county. I then moved to the main cities, their history and historical markers. The research can involve museums and tours. Also, events during the time we’re there. In this case we missed them all for example the fair and rodeo happened over the labor day weekend. We’re passed that now. The historic railroad depot museum closes for the season, guess when, starting the day after labor day. I also study a route we can take. There are three cities in the rural county and we’ll visit all three plus a nature reserved. There are also five ghost towns in the area. The biggest problem is that its hot. I do well in the heat. The wife does not. Plans are now on hold.

Green Tomatoes

It sprinkled while I was on my walk and later in the day. Plants love sun, soil, and rain. I checked the large tomato plant growing in the front. Little green tomatoes on several stems makes me hopeful that they might turn red. Now that would be something.
