Abstract Today; Yard sale in Marysville, Painting shelving, Mini-frig removal, Spooky spider

Mondays are my walk days starting in the morning. But I got hijacked to go to a 14 family yard sale in Marysville, Washington, about 25 miles north. the setup was just off the main road with tables, tents, and plenty to look at. Plenty considering this was the third day of the sale and you can imagine what already sold. A lot of the stuff is stuff no one wants anymore like old games, trinkets, and furniture.

Two ladies were tending the store and were very friendly. Everything half off! We had the place to ourselves. My way of doing things is to wander around and make a first pass. If there are things sticking to my head that I would like to buy I make a second pass and maybe pick those items up. I found a wood shelving unit for $7.50. We passed on all the books though there were some old yearbooks from 1965. Michele got a colorful trinket box for like $2.50. I picked up a sopranos game that hadn’t been played, four disney plush Mickey and minnie dolls, some ball caps, and chilton auto repair book for a buck. We had a nice drive and good time.

Once home I set the shelf unit in the middle of the garage and primered it with Kilz. The thing was obviously in a garage and there were car oil stains in the wood. I found one live spider and plenty of dead ones underneath. The dimensions were just what i needed.

In the garage we have a freezer and two mini-refrigerators. one refrigerator sits on top of the other. The bottom one has no purpose except to hold up the other. I have a replacement for that purpose so I removed the bottom refrigerator. I will offer it free on Craigslist and Facebook Marketplace.

During a trip to the left side of a shed, I surprised a big spider. I don’t like this kind. They get big and often look as black as the night. When we first moved into this house in 2015 it hadn’t been lived in for about six months. Slowly the animal kingdom was making its way into the home including this spider. I take one look at it and want to head back to southern California. I learned to spray around the house annually and that took care of the spider situation. There is a famous gardner fellow here named Cisco. He allows spider to roam inside his house since they keep other insects in check.

My friend the spider. I spooked him and he scared the living daylights out of me. I don’t like this kind.
