Wood projects over the fall: Compost bin.

These projects won’t impress a finished carpenter, but they do serve a purpose. That’s why they were made, to solve a problem. The first is a compost bin created to capture the fall leaves. The amount of fall leaves that drop on this property is immeasurable. Somewhere there’s a forest of deciduous trees with no leaves because they landed on my property. None of my neighbors have such a bounty. I rake over several months. The bin is supposed to be three feet by three feet. The end product is roughly three foot by four. To ensure the organic matter will bake I later created a top with handle. This too was improvised and completed using a patchwork of scrap wood. Here are the pics.
