The van has reached 300,000 miles and here’s the picture to prove it. The last time we had a car do 300,000 it was Michele’s 2001 Honda Accord. Right when it hit 300k it started to die at stop lights. At about 305,000 it died on the road and was given its last rights. I got $205 for junking it.
The van is a better built vehicle and has never broken down on me. After about a year of monitoring the car I invested in a new timing belt and decided to shoot for 300,000 and onward toward 400,000. A few weeks later my first breakdown. The starter went. On the good side, I was told my battery was good. Until the battery died about a week later. So, in less than a month since hitting 300k, I’ve broken down twice. I still plan to make 400,000.
