Cecilia Turning Eleven

Another Birthday Passes

Happy Birthdays come and go
Like cold winter nights, and snow
They pass away, one at a time
Another will pass at the end of this rhyme

But for the one little girl, Cecilia, turning eleven
She will enter the seventh heaven
On this day a cake will bake
Frosted, sliced, and served to partake

Her many gifts have been amassing
One is opened with each day’s passing
A dinner of steak and mashed potatoes
Cold drinks, songs, and taking photos

And in the end, when the timing fits
We’ll sit together and open gifts
And we’ll always remember this day
Even though it passes away

But today we’ll have our fun and celebrate
On this point I won’t elaborate
We’re just happy that Cecilia is ours
We’ll pass the hours and climb towers

Happy Birthday Cecilia, Goofball
May you live long and happy – say all
