Aaron you cut your thumb
Where did all the blood come from?
What were you making?
Or was it something you were baking?
I can’t imagine the pain
Or the size of the stain
It was serious I see
To go to the emergency
It took off quite a slice
That you kept cold in ice
It couldn’t have been any easier
Than putting it in the freezer
Keep it there without stop
And while you’re in there grab me an otter pop
Watch out for the frozen fish
I’d hate to see them get switched
Infections start you’d be amazed
Keep It clean with your hand raised
Keep it dry while in the shower
Cut those down to half an hour
This is our second finger disaster
Marc’s came first and yours came after
You both are so very brave
And spared from an early grave
Thank God you are alive!
And that you have
survived
We thought it impossible
Coming home from the hospital
There’s lessons to be learned
And wisdom to be discerned
When you dice, don’t slice
Think twice or pay the price
I know this is hard
Always be on your guard
Watch the sharp edge
Or lose an appendage
With love, Dad
